Shoes

You can tell a lot about a person by their shoes. I'm not saying you can determine their life story, but you can tell what they're doing and something about their personality. At school I usually stick with a pair of comfortable tennis shoes. I don't want to worry about heels and waltzing all over campus with sore feet by 10:00 a.m. For Nursing we were required to buy a pair of white shoes as part of the uniform. I think heels are so fun and I love wearing them to church or other occasions when I get to dress up a little. A common cultural sign of respect is to take off your shoes when entering someone's home. Sometimes girls need a little "retail therapy", some of my favorite pairs of shoes have come from these kinds of purchases. Some shoes are functional, while others are for looks. How many pairs of shoes do you have? I have quite a closet-full, and I pick the pair I'm wearing based on mood, my outfit, and what I need to do in them. What do your shoes say about you? Are you sweet? Sophisticated? Athletic? High maintenance? Low maintenance? Do you like to wear socks? Does your job require work boots? Formal dress? Are you in the military and it doesn't matter which foot you put your boots on? Are you trying to impress? Be comfortable? Do you prefer not to wear shoes at all? Keep your eyes open, you never know what someones shoes will tell you about them. Always look people in the eye, it's a sign of respect, but occasionally look down, you might be surprised!
